{"id":101123,"date":"2024-11-27T22:17:29","date_gmt":"2024-11-27T20:17:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/cccs-patrick-cheza-wins-default-judgment-in-barbara-rwodzi-high-court-assault-case"},"modified":"2024-11-28T00:21:39","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T22:21:39","slug":"cccs-patrick-cheza-wins-default-judgment-in-barbara-rwodzi-high-court-assault-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/cccs-patrick-cheza-wins-default-judgment-in-barbara-rwodzi-high-court-assault-case","title":{"rendered":"CCC&#8217;s Patrick Cheza Wins Default Judgment In Barbara Rwodzi High Court Assault Case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Masvingo High Court on Tuesday, November 26, delivered a default judgment in favour of Patrick Cheza, the losing Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) candidate for the Chirumhanzu parliamentary constituency in the 2023 general elections, and four other party members.<\/p>\n<p>The CCC activists were arrested in September 2023 for allegedly assaulting the ZANU PF candidate, Barbra Rwodzi, who won the seat.<\/p>\n<p>Cheza was charged with inciting public violence, while Elias Maduveko, Magmaster Chidyawuye, Delight Zinyemba and Courage Mugova were facing public violence charges.<\/p>\n<p>According to Change Radio, Justice Sensley Zisengwe dismissed the case due to the absence of key filings from the Prosecutor General and Gweru Presiding Magistrate Beaulity Dube.<\/p>\n<p>Cheza had been facing allegations related to a traffic incident on August 24, 2023, involving George Chengeta Rwodzi, Barbra Rwodzi\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>The incident involved a minor accident between Cheza\u2019s driver and Rwodzi\u2019s vehicle.
