{"id":101825,"date":"2024-12-12T22:39:33","date_gmt":"2024-12-12T20:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/canadian-diplomat-reports-unlawful-break-in-allegedly-authorised-by-ambassador"},"modified":"2024-12-13T00:46:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T22:46:08","slug":"canadian-diplomat-reports-unlawful-break-in-allegedly-authorised-by-ambassador","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/canadian-diplomat-reports-unlawful-break-in-allegedly-authorised-by-ambassador","title":{"rendered":"Canadian Diplomat Reports Unlawful Break-in Allegedly Authorised by Ambassador"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A Canadian diplomat, Jennifer Lee Boudreau, has reported a break-in at her residence to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), allegedly authorised by Canada\u2019s ambassador to Zimbabwe, Adler Aristilde.<\/p>\n<p>According to an internal police memo from Marlborough Police Station in Harare, obtained by ZimLive, Boudreau returned to her home on Quorn Avenue in Mt Pleasant at around 4 PM on December 6 and noticed her wardrobe door was open.<\/p>\n<p>She questioned her security guard, Last Murapa, who initially claimed ignorance but later admitted knowing about the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Murapa told police that earlier that day, around 10:30 AM, while Boudreau was at work, the embassy\u2019s regional security manager, Franis Limbikani, arrived at the property with a duplicate key and accessed her apartment.<\/p>\n<p>Limbikani allegedly retrieved the hard drive from the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system stored inside the wardrobe, replaced it with a blank hard drive, and instructed Murapa not to record his visit in the log book or inform anyone about it.<\/p>\n<p>On December 7, Boudreau confronted Ambassador Aristilde about the incident. She was shocked to learn that Aristilde not only knew about the unlawful entry but had directed it.<\/p>\n<p>The ambassador had instructed Jennifer Jacob, the embassy\u2019s property officer, to take a duplicate key and retrieve the CCTV hard drive from Boudreau\u2019s apartment. Jacob then ordered Limbikani to carry out the task.<\/p>\n<p>Boudreau reported the incident to the foreign office in Canada, which acknowledged receipt of her report and promised to initiate an investigation.
