SOUTH African President Cyril Ramaphosa<\/a> and Equatorial Guinea\u2019s President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo will form part of a list of 11 sitting African leaders set to attend late former President Robert Mugabe<\/a>\u2019s send-off ceremony at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n

This was revealed Thursday by Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet in charge of Presidential Communications, George Charamba.<\/p>\n

Among the notables will be eight former Presidents who include those who served during the formative years of their post-independence States.<\/p>\n

Sitting leaders who have confirmed their attendance include DRC\u2019S Felix Tshisekedi, Ghana\u2019s Nana Akufo-Addo, Malawi\u2019s Arthur Peter Mutharika, Angola\u2019s Joao Laurenco, Saharawi\u2019s Brahim Ghali, Mozambique\u2019s Felipe Nyusi, Zambia\u2019s Edgar Lungu, Namibia\u2019s Hage Geingob and Kenya\u2019s Uhuru Kenyatta.<\/p>\n

Former Presidents who shall attend Zambia\u2019s Kenneth Kaunda and Rupiah Banda, Mozambique\u2019s Joachim Chissano, South Africa\u2019s Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma, Namibia\u2019s Sam Nujoma and Hifikepunye Pohamba and Botswana\u2019s Festus Mogae.<\/p>\n

Conspicuous by his absence is immediate former Botswana president Ian Khama who had frosty relations with Mugabe when the two leaders served in their countries in their countries.<\/p>\n

There was no sign of any European leaders and other parts of the world who in 2015 poured in their numbers to attend former South African leader Nelson Mandela\u2019s burial.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
