Norton Member of Parliament, Temba Mliswa (Independent), was on Monday denied entry into the late former President Robert Mugabe\u2019s Borrowdale home.<\/p>\n
Mliswa had gone to offer his condolences to Mugabe\u2019s widow, Grace, but was informed that she was not at home. Writing on Twitter, Mliswa said:<\/p>\n
I went to go and pay my respects to the family of the late RGM this morning at \u201cthe Blue Roof\u201d. Unfortunately a few minutes after producing my ID as requested I was informed that the former First Lady wasn\u2019t in. Nonetheless, the family is in my thoughts and prayers.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Zim Morning Post, Mliswa said he has done his part but was surprised that he was blocked from paying respects to the dead. He said:<\/p>\n
I have played my party. I didn\u2019t know that paying respects to the dead can be denied.<\/p>\n
In our culture, we do not do that. If anything, what I did is just out of respect.<\/p>\n
