Minister of State for Presidential Affairs in charge of Implementation and Monitoring Joram McDonald Gumbo has been summoned by the\u00a0Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission\u2019s (ZACC),\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>before he appeared in court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The former Transport Minister\u2019s lawyer, Selby Hwacha said he didn\u2019t know why his client has been called back by ZACC. He said:<\/p>\n

\n

We have been recalled to ZACC head office and at the moment we are not sure why we are going back there.<\/p>\n

We have not been charged also on an offence involving US$37 million. No warned and cautioned statement was recorded from my client with respect to that.<\/p>\n

We are only aware of charges relating to CMED and CAAZ. I can\u2019t comment further for now. I will be in a position to comment when I get to ZACC.<\/p>\n

Gumbo was arrested by ZACC officials on Monday and is facing criminal abuse of charges and corruption involving millions of US dollars dating back to the time he was Transport Minister under the late former President Robert Mugabe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
