MDC leader Nelson Chamisa said he is not happy with the Southern African Development Community\u2019s (SADC) approach towards Zimbabwe\u2019s crises, saying the regional body does not understand the nature of the country\u2019s problems.<\/p>\n
Chamisa, who is currently in South Africa to engage the ruling African National Congress and other civic organisations to help push President Emmerson Mnangagwa into dialogue with his party, expressed his views during a radio interview in that country on Thursday. He said:<\/p>\n
We are not satisfied with the way Sadc has treated the Zimbabwean matter and we have raised it with them.<\/p>\n
We recently held meetings with Sadc. Our issues are well known. We are not happy with their view particularly in defining the crisis in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n
SADC has thrown its weight fully behind Mnangagwa\u2019s government and has refused to have Zimbabwe on the agenda during its Summits, saying the problems are not political but economic.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, SADC executive secretary Stergomena Lawrence Tax has insisted on the unconditional removal of economic restrictions imposed on Zimbabwe by Western countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
