{"id":19491,"date":"2020-02-13T21:48:16","date_gmt":"2020-02-13T19:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=19491"},"modified":"2020-02-13T21:48:16","modified_gmt":"2020-02-13T19:48:16","slug":"bulawayo-city-council-hike-tariffs-by-416","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/bulawayo-city-council-hike-tariffs-by-416","title":{"rendered":"Bulawayo City Council Hike Tariffs By 416%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The City of Bulawayo was given the green light by the government after the latter approved the former\u2019s budget which resulted in the city hiking tariffs and other service charges by a whopping 416% with effect from the first of February, The Chronicle reports.<\/p>\n<p>The tariffs hike was confirmed by the city\u2019s Finance and Development Committee chairperson councillor Mlandu Ncube who spoke to the publication and said:<\/p>\n<p>Yes, the budget has been approved and tariffs will go up by 416 percent as was proposed by council<\/p>\n<p>The City advised those who made payment plans prior to the hike to update their payment plans in a statement which reads in part:<\/p>\n<p>Customers who made payment arrangements with the City of Bulawayo are encouraged to visit the nearest Revenue Office to update their debt payment arrangement to incorporate the new charges and continue enjoying benefits that go with such arrangements.
