{"id":21090,"date":"2020-03-24T17:07:09","date_gmt":"2020-03-24T15:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=21090"},"modified":"2020-03-24T17:07:09","modified_gmt":"2020-03-24T15:07:09","slug":"mnangagwa-abandons-offices-for-state-house-following-zororo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/mnangagwa-abandons-offices-for-state-house-following-zororo","title":{"rendered":"Mnangagwa Abandons Offices For State House Following Zororo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PRESIDENT Emmerson <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emmerson_Mnangagwa\">Mnangagwa<\/a> Monday vacated his Munhumutapa government offices in central Harare following revelations that the late Zororo Makamba had visited the premise before his shock death from coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential spokesperson, George Charamba said Mnangagwa was from Monday this week, working from State House as a precautionary measure after Makamba\u2019s visit last week to Munhumutapa Building.<\/p>\n<p>Makamba was admitted at Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital last Friday. He later died on Monday, becoming the first confirmed death in Zimbabwe from the dreaded disease.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must confirm that the late Zororo Makamba paid a visit to both the Ministry of Finance and also the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC),\u201d said Charamba.<\/p>\n<p>He said at the OPC offices, Makamba met three staff members who have since been placed under the mandatory 21-day quarantine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the course of his meeting, he came in contact with three staff members from our office. Those people have since been placed under 21-day quarantine apart from the measures that the medical team has recommended. On Sunday our offices were fumigated ensuring that there is decontamination,\u201d said Charamba.<\/p>\n<p>Mnangagwa usually holds his Cabinet briefings at the Munhumutapa building, but this Tuesday, all the ministers were summoned to State House for the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>However, other government ministries such as the Ministry of Information are still operating from Munhumutapa Building.<\/p>\n<p>Makamba, son to top businessman and Zanu PF politician, James Makamba, was the second person to be diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus after his return from the US early this month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa Monday vacated his Munhumutapa government offices in central Harare following revelations that the late Zororo Makamba had visited the premise before his shock death from coronavirus.
