He said:<\/p>\n<p>\u2026 I just make sure that when they [customers] come I observe social distancing [because] in as much as I need money to sustain my family, I don\u2019t want to get infected or to infect them.<\/p>\n<p>Before President Emmerson Mnangagwa issued the 21-day stay-at-home order, Mundozo was operating from Harare\u2019s popular bus terminal \u2013 Copa Cabana.<\/p>\n<p>Muzondo, like other money changers, charge fees for \u201ccash-in, cash-out services\u201d that allow customers on the country\u2019s mobile EcoCash platform to convert electronic balances in their mobile money wallets into hard currency, and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwean authorities outlawed the use of the people\u2019s choice of currency, the United States Dollar in June 2019.<\/p>\n<p>However, following the coronavirus global pandemic outbreak, the country\u2019s monetary authorities allowed those with \u201cfree funds\u201d to transact in foreign currency but fixed the exchange rate at US$1: ZWL$25 far below the \u201creal\u201d convertibility which is currently 1:49.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two Mutare City Council officials from the housing department have been sent on forced leave over murky land allocation deals.
