Africa Press-Nigeria:<\/p>\n

ZRP has prohibited a demo that was planned by the ruling party at the American Embassy tomorrow, The Herald reports.<\/p>\n

Zanu PF was planning to go to the American Embassy in Westgate Harare to demonstrate against the unfortunate death of George Floyd in America and the sanctions imposed against Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

ZRP issued a prohibition order in a letter from the officer commanding Harare Surburbian District to the ruling party which reads:<\/p>\n

While the demonstration is for a noble cause, it contravenes Section 5(1) of SI 83 of 2020 of the Covid-19 lockdown offences.<\/p>\n

Take note that gatherings of whatever purpose, are prohibited during this period save for those exempted in the statutory instrument.<\/p>\n
