{"id":24846,"date":"2020-07-02T22:06:34","date_gmt":"2020-07-02T20:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=24846"},"modified":"2020-07-02T22:06:34","modified_gmt":"2020-07-02T20:06:34","slug":"four-mdc-councillors-expelled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/four-mdc-councillors-expelled","title":{"rendered":"Four MDC Councillors Expelled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of Local Government, July Moyo has declared for Harare wards vacant after the Movement for Democratic Change expelled them from the party.<\/p>\n<p>The expulsions come when the MDC-T leadership has in the recent past been recalling councillors and legislators who paid allegiance to MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa.<\/p>\n<p>The development was announced in a letter addressed to the Harare Town Clerk, Engineer H Chisango and copied to the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Harare Metropolitan, OPC Chief Secretary and others.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bPKQ1SiP\">\n<p>The letter read in part:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>DECLARATION OF VACANCIES<\/p>\n<div class=\"WUjkfcFq\">\n<div class=\"ad-links-inside\">\n<p>I wish to inform you that I am in receipt of a letter from the movement for Democratic Change stating that Cllr D, Ngadziore Ward 16. Cllr Grisot Mandere Ward 44, Cllr Jolson Kautsa ward 37 and Cllr Tonderail Chakeredza Ward 31 have been expelled from that Party.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of Section 278 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe as read with Section 129 (1) (k), Ward 16, Ward 44, Ward 37 and Ward 31 of Harare City Council are now vacant.<\/p>\n<div class=\"google-auto-placed ap_container\">\n<p>In terms of Section 121 of the Electoral Act, please inform the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission of the vacancies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Minister of Local Government, July Moyo has declared for Harare wards vacant after the Movement for Democratic Change expelled them from the party.
