Bulawayo\u2019s typhoid death toll has risen to 13 after a Grade Four primary school pupil succumbed to the illness.<\/p>\n

The tragedy was announced by the chairperson of the Community Action Group for Good Governance, Nikiwe Ncube Tshabalala while addressing members of the media on Friday. She said:<\/p>\n

We are appalled by the ongoing deaths in Bulawayo. So far 13 cases of typhoid have been recorded with the most recent one being of a Grade Four pupil who passed away yesterday (Thursday). The issue is really sad.<\/p>\n

With a spate of deaths related to water-borne diseases, we saw it fit that we take action as Bulawayo citizens because we realise this outbreak can affect anyone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tshabalala urged Bulawayo residents to join hands to address the issue bedevilling Luveve, a suburb in the second-largest city in the country.<\/p>\n
