In a statement seen and published by Bulawayo24, MDC-T Vice-Chairman Morgen Komichi said the MDC T secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora\u2019s nomination by some Harare MDC T members<\/a>\u00a0is not valid because the standing committee directed all provinces to stop any nomination processes till a directive with guidelines by the party\u2019s standing committee is issued.<\/p>\n

Komichi went on to say the meeting that convened and nominated Mwonzora yesterday defied procedures and will bear no official recognition.<\/p>\n

Komichi\u2019s statement reads:<\/p>\n

On Wednesday 15th July 2020, the Standing Committee set and resolved that the following happen:<\/p>\n

1. Since we had failed to get clearance from the Police and the Ministry of Health because of the WHO\u2019s Covid 19 restrictions on movement and gatherings, we immediately instructed our lawyers to approach the courts to seek variation of the time frames set in the judgment that actuated the Extraordinary Congress.<\/p>\n

2. The Organising Department was tasked with compiling the list of genuine 2014 delegates as they stand today.<\/p>\n

3. At this last Tuesday, Standing Committee meeting, it was directed that all provinces stop any nomination processes until\u00a0 the issuance of a directive with guidelines by the Standing Committee.<\/p>\n
