Youths in various provinces are confident that the Pfumvudza Programme will enhance food security in the country if implemented nationally.<\/p>\n
Youths have taken the lead to spearhead the implementation of Pfumvudza programme introduced by the government to boost agricultural production and enhance food security at both household and national levels.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe introduction of this food security concept dubbed Pfumvudza will no doubt achieve the intended goal, what is interesting is that the youths have embraced this programme with vigour and they are raring to go. Some in various parts of the country have started preparing their small pieces of land \u2013 we have the energy as youths, and if implemented at national level at a household level I tell you the country is bound for a bumper harvest this cropping season,\u201d notes the National Chair for the Apex Council for Youth in Agriculture John Muchenje.<\/p>\n
The youths described the Pfumvudza concept as a food security model which calls for national commitment, especially from the younger generation.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs youths, we are still energetic, if we all embrace this concept the country will no doubt regain its breadbasket status in the face of climate change. The programme we understand conserves water and soil \u2013 it is incumbent upon us the young generations to drive this initiative and feed the national than being cry-babies let us get to the land and with full commitment, we can conquer.\u201d<\/p>\n
