Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>President Emmerson Mnangagwa said he has noted \u201ctremendous\u201d progress made at the new Parliament building in Mt Hampden, Zvimba North, Mashonaland West Province.<\/p>\n

He said this on Monday morning after touring the building to assess the progress that has been made by Chinese contractors. He said:<\/p>\n

There has been tremendous progress and achievements in terms of construction and finishing.<\/p>\n

I am sure the constraints came around as a result of Covid-19. I am sure there would have been far advanced compared to where we are now.<\/p>\n

Arrangements have been made for technicians who had been out of the country to come back and I believe that from next year, construction would be in full pace.<\/p>\n

The construction of the building was expected to be completed by March next year but it was disrupted by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has said the project is now due for completion in September.<\/p>\n

President Mnangagwa was accompanied on the tour by Local Government and Public Works Minister July Moyo and his deputy, Marian Chombo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
