{"id":31020,"date":"2020-12-08T19:55:05","date_gmt":"2020-12-08T17:55:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=31020"},"modified":"2020-12-08T19:55:05","modified_gmt":"2020-12-08T17:55:05","slug":"psl-ceo-responds-to-zifa-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/psl-ceo-responds-to-zifa-allegations","title":{"rendered":"PSL CEO Responds To ZIFA Allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Premier Soccer League (PSL) chief executive Kennedy Ndebele has responded to issues raised against him by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) which border on undermining the authority of the football mother body.<\/p>\n<p>ZIFA accused Ndebele last month of making unfavourable statements to the Press regarding the resumption of football, writing to the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) and World League Forum on the same matter.<\/p>\n<p>ZIFA said Ndebele needed their authority to write those letters.<\/p>\n<p>The other allegation raised was Ndebele\u2019s failure to submit details of club accounts to ZIFA on request.<\/p>\n<p>Statements to the Press were made by Ndebele between August and September and ZIFA asked Ndebele to confirm if the statements were his and also to confirm if he authored the letter to the SRC.<\/p>\n<p>Premier Socer League (PSL) chairman, Farai Jere, who sits on the ZIFA board, told NewsDay that Ndebele had responded to the allegations and ZIFA were in possession of the correspondence. Said, Jere:<\/p>\n<p>Kenny (Ndebele) responded to those allegations, but I have not seen the correspondence he made to Zifa. Zifa are with that letter and nothing has progressed from there.
