{"id":31128,"date":"2020-12-11T20:00:28","date_gmt":"2020-12-11T18:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=31128"},"modified":"2020-12-11T20:00:28","modified_gmt":"2020-12-11T18:00:28","slug":"zinara-to-construct-standard-tollgates-countrywide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/zinara-to-construct-standard-tollgates-countrywide","title":{"rendered":"ZINARA To Construct Standard Tollgates Countrywide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The country\u2019s roads administrator ZINARA is going to construct standard tollgates countrywide to improve revenue collection and reduce congestion at some of the country\u2019s tollgates, The Herald reports.<\/p>\n<p>This was revealed by the Minister Of Transportation Joel Biggie Matiza who revealed that ZINARA has set aside $1.1 Billion to construct standard tollgates countrywide:<\/p>\n<p>To address congestion and improve on revenue collection, an amount of $1,1 billion has been set aside towards the construction of standard tollgates.<\/p>\n<p>For the Norton tollgate, there will be construction of structures to accommodate the additional two lanes, back offices, lighting and installation of toll fees collection system.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a construction of a standard toll plaza at Esigodini, with six lanes and a similar one at Mupfurudzi in Mashonaland Central. Mushagashe will be upgraded to a standard toll plaza with six lanes.<\/p>\n<p>Matiza said ZINARA will introduce a coupon\/voucher system that will be available for motorists starting next weekend:<\/p>\n<p>Motorists will tender the vouchers at tolling points, and this will offer an alternative to the challenges being experienced on other modes of payments that depend on network connectivity.<\/p>\n<p>Matiza also assured motorists that the muddy Harare Masvingo Highway which is under construction will be usable soon.<\/p>\n<p>More: The Herald<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
