Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Traffic has reportedly surged as Africa\u2019s busiest land border, the Beitbridge border post as Injiva (Zimbabweans based in South Africa) troop in for the festive season, The Sunday Mail reports.<\/p>\n

Pedestrians, light motor vehicles, and heavy vehicles have reportedly flooded the border authorities are busy screening travelers before letting them pass which is causing some delays at the border.<\/p>\n

According to the publication:<\/p>\n

All travellers are being screened before entering the country and are mandated to produce a Covid-19 clearance certificate with a validity not exceeding two days.<\/p>\n

Those travelling to South Africa should produce the same certificates but with a validity of three days.<\/p>\n

Security has been beefed with security guards from the Department of Immigration, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra), the police and other security agencies. Those without valid travel documents are screened at all entry and exit points.<\/p>\n

According to officials at the border, traffic started to increase on Friday when school and other companies closed for the holidays.<\/p>\n
