{"id":33533,"date":"2021-01-26T21:46:15","date_gmt":"2021-01-26T19:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/?p=33533"},"modified":"2021-01-26T19:15:30","modified_gmt":"2021-01-26T17:15:30","slug":"duo-nabbed-for-forging-zimsec-2020-june-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/duo-nabbed-for-forging-zimsec-2020-june-results","title":{"rendered":"Duo Nabbed For Forging ZIMSEC 2020 June Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Two men from Chitungwiza Monday appeared before the court for forging Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec) 2020 June results.<\/p>\n<p>The duo, Misheck Tawanda Cherera (20) and Zaine Stanley Goreraza (27), both of Chitungwiza, pleaded not guilty of forgery when they appeared before magistrate Denis Mangosi.<\/p>\n<p>The state alleges that on January 22, 2021, Cherera went to Zimsec offices in Mount Pleasant intending to check the authenticity of his Ordinary Level June results for the year 2020.<\/p>\n<p>When the officials there checked, they discovered that he had produced a fake result slip with passes which were not appearing on his original slip.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested and he implicated Goreraza who in turn implicated another accomplice who is still at large.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate Denis Mangosi remanded them to March 3, 2020, on a $3 000 bail each.<\/p>\n<p>Forgery of academic documents has been on the rise with reports suggesting that some government officials had been in offices using bogus results.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (Zimche) parted ways with its top operations manager Mrs Florence Chimbunu after it was exposed that she had a single Ordinary Level pass.<\/p>\n<p>Others have been paying others to write examinations for them.<\/p>\n<p><b>More: NewsDay<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
