Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Nyanga villagers who recently canoed across the flooded Gairezi River to repatriate the body of their relative who died in Mozambique are now in trouble with authorities.<\/p>\n

The brave villagers are accused of flouting laws on the repatriation of dead bodies and crossing the border illegally.<\/p>\n

They used a makeshift canoe to bring back the remains of Chengetai Nyamutowa (43) who died in a motorcycle accident in Mozambique.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Manica Post, Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luxson Chananda said the men face arrest and investigations into the incident are already underway. He said:<\/p>\n

Nyamutowa had travelled to Mozambique when he was involved in an accident on January 23. He was travelling on a motorcycle when the accident happened and died on the spot.<\/p>\n

It was established that Nyamutowa\u2019s family and community members used a makeshift canoe to repatriate the body through the flooded Gairezi River.<\/p>\n

These people face arrest and investigations are already underway to identify the culprits.<\/p>\n

They should have adhered to the repatriation processes of taking the body through a designated entry point.<\/p>\n
