The statement read:<\/p>\n<p>The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association dismisses the fake message circulating on different social media platforms that we have received 6.5 million from the Dutch Embassy to assist citizens affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>ZimRights has not received such funds and we currently do not have any programme running that is giving cash handouts to those that have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>ZimRights communicates via official organisational channels and our official social media handles.<\/p>\n<p>We urge Zimbabweans to exercise caution before sharing unverified communication on social media which mislead and results in citizens that were pushed into deeper poverty by the Covid-19 pandemic incurring unnecessary costs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
