{"id":36959,"date":"2021-03-20T18:26:01","date_gmt":"2021-03-20T16:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/?p=36959"},"modified":"2021-03-20T18:07:16","modified_gmt":"2021-03-20T16:07:16","slug":"late-ginimbis-botswana-wealth-at-stake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/late-ginimbis-botswana-wealth-at-stake","title":{"rendered":"Late Ginimbi\u2019s Botswana Wealth At Stake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span><b>By Mary Taruvinga<\/b> &#8211; THE family of late businessman and socialite, Genius \u2018Ginimbi\u2019 Kadungure has rushed to court seeking a ruling to effect the provisional order in which a Harare lawyer, Patricia Darangwa was barred from handling the execution of the deceased\u2019s estate.<\/p>\n<p>Ginimbi\u2019s siblings and father say some of his wealth risked vanishing if no immediate action was taken.<\/p>\n<p>The family filed an urgent chamber application after Darangwa appealed against High Court judge Slyvia Chirau Mugomba at the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>The appeal suspended the court order while placing at risk, the late businessman\u2019s wealth in Botswana.<\/p>\n<p>Through its lawyer, Wellington Magaya, the family argues that Darangwa filed the appeal only to delay the execution.<\/p>\n<p>Magaya said FNB Bank Botswana had given the family a moratorium of up to March 31 2021 to resolve the executorship and will validity issues.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bank is now demanding that a Know Your Customer (KYC) process on the deceased\u2019s company\u2019s account be done in seven days failing which it shall without notice invoke loan recovery remedies available to it at law,\u201d said the lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no doubt this threatens the assets of the deceased\u2019s company in which applicants have a well-grounded shareholding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe directorship and KYC issues digging the resumption of operations of the deceased\u2019s company called Quick Gases (Pty) Ltd can only be permanently addressed if the court pronounces itself on the return day in HC136\/21 on the validity or otherwise of Darangwa\u2019s appointment as executrix and the document she produced as a will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ginimbi died November 8 last year in a horrific car crash that also claimed the lives of three other friends.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened in Borrowdale, Harare.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
