Morgan Tsvangirai was the founding president of the united MDC. He passed away on February 14 2018, in a South African hospital after a long battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
Morgan Tsvangirai was a courageous politician who also stood up for human rights for the people of Zimbabwe, often at personal cost. As a political leader Morgan Tsvangirai inspired hopes of millions of Zimbabweans at times when human rights were under threat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
This day last year, tragic news of earth-shattering proportions on Morgan Tsvangirai\u2019s death cast a dark cloud over Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
27 years ago in 1992 in the month of February, I was privileged to receive a letter of offer of employment as Legal Adviser to the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions. It was signed by Morgan Tsvangirai! What a great and compassionate boss!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
As Zimbabweans commemorate the 1st year anniversary on the passing on of Morgan Richard Tsvangirai, we pay our respects to a man whose contribution to Zimbabwean politics and modern-day struggles will forever be a part of our history. May His Soul continue to Rest In Peace.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
