Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>ZANU PF youths in Manicaland province are planning to invade farms belonging to the ruling party\u2019s secretary for finance Patrick Chinamasa, former secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa and former Agriculture minister Joseph Made.<\/p>\n

The youths from Headlands, where Chinamasa and Made\u2019s farms are located and Makoni Central, where Mutasa\u2019s farm is situated, claim the farms are oversized and underutilised.<\/p>\n

Chinamasa owns Tsukami Farm where only 40 hectares under tobacco is the only section that is being utilised, while Made owns Tara Farm.<\/p>\n

Headlands MP Christopher Chingosho told The Standard that ZANU PF youths wanted to hold demonstrations against the trio but he told them to allow authorities to address their grievances. Said Chingosho:<\/p>\n

I can confirm the youths here in Headlands almost two weeks ago wanted to demonstrate over the issue of allocation of land to the youths, but I told them that we need to approach the Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister Nokuthula Matsikenyeri over the matter and we have since done that.<\/p>\n

The reason I stopped them is that I don\u2019t want to put Headlands in the headlines, but this time I won\u2019t stop them if their concerns are not addressed.<\/p>\n

I am behind the youths, they need to benefit from the land.<\/p>\n

Mutasa was Manicaland provincial godfather in ZANU PF politics before he was expelled from the party by the late former president Robert Mugabe for supporting then vice-president Joice Mujuru in 2015.<\/p>\n

Made was also sidelined from the ruling party in 2017 following a military coup that ousted Mugabe and he has been in the shadows since.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Made dismissed the youths\u2019 claims that his farm is over 1 000 hectares saying there could someone using the youths to fight him.<\/p>\n

ZANU PF has been accused of using farms repossessed from white Zimbabweans to perpetuate its patronage system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
