Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Zimbabwean preacher, Shingi Munyeza has been ousted from the Zimpapers Board following a spate of sermons criticising President Emmerson Mnangagwa\u2019s government.<\/p>\n

ZimLive reports that Munyeza dropped together with Rejoice Nharaunda and Karen Dube, Robert Mugabe-era board members who had been reappointed in 2019 when the current Zimpapers board was installed.<\/p>\n

Munyeza was drafted into the Zimpapers with six others, Primrose Ruvarashe Kurasha, Sibyl Madzikanda, Tsungai Chibvongodze, Tatenda Chiweshe, Ladson Mhango and Tommy Sithole.<\/p>\n

Speaking to ZimLive, an anonymous source said:<\/p>\n

_The regime is paranoid ahead of elections in 2023 and they want people they can trust in strategic positions. Munyeza, Nharaunda and Dube could not be trusted._<\/p>\n

Nharaunda confirmed her departure from Zimpapers while Munyeza declined to answer to ZimLive questions. Dube could not be reached.<\/p>\n

Deputy information minister Kindness Paradza said he had no comment adding that if the ouster of Munyeza and others happens \u201cam sure it should be above board.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services is reportedly lining up three replacements, including two officials from Zimstats and NetOne.<\/p>\n

Munyeza, who now faces the prospect of being frozen out of the Presidential Advisory Committee appointed by Mnangagwa, has used the pulpit to criticise Mnangagwa\u2019s economic policies and human rights record, describing his regime as an \u201coppressive occult.\u201d<\/p>\n

The preacher was forced to take a sabbatical from social media and from pastoring at his Faith Ministries Church in January this year after his daughter exposed him for cheating on his wife.<\/p>\n
