Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The opposition Zimfirst has called for comprehensive electoral reforms before the 2023 watershed elections saying the country cannot continue to have flawed elections.<\/p>\n

The country\u2019s main opposition, the MDC, has been crying foul after every election since its formation in 1999, accusing the ruling ZANU PF party of using State institutions to subvert the will of the electorate.<\/p>\n

Zimfirst president Maxwell Zeb Shumba Rusike has added his voice in calling for a level electoral playing field.<\/p>\n

Rusike asserted that ZANU PF and the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa are the two sides of the same coin and are both complicit in the violation of citizen\u2019s rights. Said Rusike:<\/p>\n

Zimfirst calls for electoral reforms such that any party that wins the 2023 harmonized elections will be legitimized, hence, also ending the sanctions being imposed by the United States for ZANU PF violations of human right and corruption.<\/p>\n

Zimfirst hereby states that people must advocate for electoral reforms before going for elections. It\u2019s the only way we can have credible harmonized elections in its purest literal sense, not the flawed, rigged and illegitimate elections that we have been having, which were been endorsed by the soon to cum opposition parties which are ZANU PF and MDC Alliance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
