{"id":41447,"date":"2021-06-04T18:43:48","date_gmt":"2021-06-04T16:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/?p=41447"},"modified":"2021-06-04T17:33:05","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T15:33:05","slug":"mnangagwa-appoints-mdc-defector-to-petrotrade-board","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/mnangagwa-appoints-mdc-defector-to-petrotrade-board","title":{"rendered":"Mnangagwa Appoints MDC Defector To Petrotrade Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>President Emerson Mnangagwa has appointed MDC Alliance defector, Lilian Timveos to the Petrotrade board, a gesture viewed by some as a reward for ditching the opposition party.<\/p>\n<p>Timveos, a former senator, was a deputy treasurer in the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa before joining Zanu PF in February this year.<\/p>\n<p>Timveos has also undergone an orientation programme at the Zanu PF Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology.<\/p>\n<p>Her latest appointment, as Petrotrade board member, was confirmed Thursday by Energy Minister Zhemu Soda. Said the minister:<\/p>\n<p><b>_Petrotrade has a critical role of participating in ensuring adequate supply of fuel in the country, thereby fulfilling the ministry\u2019s vision and attainment of Vision 2030._<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Other board members are, Tinomudaishe Chinyoka, a lawyer, who is the board chairperson deputised by Zanele Dube, Gladys Mumhure, Simbabrashe Eric Mhuriro, Ferida Matambo, Getrude Marabada, Godfrey Ncube, and Dakarai Mukuku.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, another former senior MDC official Obert Gutu was appointed by Mnangagwa as a commissioner of the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC).<\/p>\n<p>Petrotrade is a private company owned by the Government of Zimbabwe. It is a successor Company to the former National Oil Company of Zimbabwe (NOCZIM).<\/p>\n<p>It is responsible for downstream activities, including the selling of petroleum products and lubricants through bulk sales and fuel service stations.<\/p>\n<p><b>More: Pindula News; NewZimbabwe<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
