Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Football fans across the country are waiting with bated breath for authorities to announce the way forward on the Chibuku Super Cup tournament.<\/p>\n

This comes after the Health and Child Care Minister Vice President Costantino Chiwenga banned all public gatherings with effect from 14 June 2021 in a move meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Chiwenga told the media on Saturday evening:<\/p>\n

All public gatherings, churches, music shows and sports have been banned, except for funerals with only 30 people allowed to attend.<\/p>\n

The Chibuku Super Cup is currently underway after the government finally gave the green light for football in the country to return after an 18-month long COVID-19 enforced break.<\/p>\n

The tournament is being played with strict adherence to COVID-19 procedures in accordance with the World Health Organisation (WHO).<\/p>\n

Among other things, journalists (broadcast and print) who will cover Chibuku Super Cup matches have to produce COVID-19 test certificates done within 48 hours to gain access to the match venues.<\/p>\n
