Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Exiled former Tourism Minister, Dr Walter Mzembi has said the demolitions of hundreds of houses in Melfort, Goromonzi reflect turf or territorial wars in the ruling ZANU PF.<\/p>\n

He suggested that the houses were demolished because the group led by Rodgers Pote who fronted Eastwinds properties that was selling and developing the stands in question lost it when former Transport Minister Biggie Matiza succumbed to COVID-19 earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Pote is accusing the Ministry of National Housing and Social Amenities of instructing the demolition of the houses.<\/p>\n

The Ministry, however, denies the allegations saying it stayed out of the matter before Pote was ordered by the Goromonzi Magistrate in 2020 to stop allocating the stands and to develop them.<\/p>\n

Mzembi said the demolitions were a \u201cturf wars in government at war with itself no MDC hand here! Vasiyeyi (leave them out).\u201d He added:<\/p>\n

Mzembi speaks after ZANU PF acting political commissar, Patrick Chinamasa had claimed that the \u201ccorrupt MDC-led councils are to blame for the demolitions\u201d since they are the ones that allocated the land illegally.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, MDC Alliance activist, Pedzisayi Ruhanya has said the victims of the demolitions \u201care not fools\u201d as they are very much aware of who destroyed their houses.<\/p>\n
