You are, therefore, advised to direct your issues to the National Joint Negotiating Forum,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1712\" src=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2019\/01\/Ivan-Teaching-Math-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/upload\/sites\/14\/2019\/01\/Ivan-Teaching-Math-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/upload\/sites\/14\/2019\/01\/Ivan-Teaching-Math-768x507.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/upload\/sites\/14\/2019\/01\/Ivan-Teaching-Math-1024x675.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/upload\/sites\/14\/2019\/01\/Ivan-Teaching-Math-741x486.jpg 741w, https:\/\/static.africa-press.net\/upload\/sites\/14\/2019\/01\/Ivan-Teaching-Math.jpg 1804w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>PTUZ, together with the Zimbabwe Teachers\u2019 Association (Zimta) and four other unions had requested an urgent meeting with the Public Service Commission (PSC) to negotiate salary adjustments in line with inflation and erosion of real time gross settlement and bond notes values.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe write to remind your honourable office of a meeting between the PSC and the education sector, which was promised during the last meeting of February 10, between ministry and the teachers unions,\u201d the unions wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Teachers recently called off a week-long strike with the hope of engaging the PSC for better salaries, allowances and working conditions.<\/p>\n<p>PTUZ secretary-general, Raymond Majongwe said the response was disrespectful and spiteful, saying a position will only be reached after unions meet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe it was disrespectful and spiteful for government to back down on promises that they made by hiding behind the law. The law does not stop government from engaging their workers. The law, as designed by the legislator under statutory 141 of 1996, does not bar government from engaging its workers,\u201d he said.
