Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Sports and Recreation Commission has allowed FC Platinum and Black Rhinos Queens, together with 11 other national representatives to resume training ahead of their international assignments.<\/p>\n

The two clubs are preparing for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) interclub competitions.<\/p>\n

Black Rhinos Queens is preparing to take part in the inaugural COSAFA Women\u2019s Champions League set for Durban from the 27th of August to the 4th of September.<\/p>\n

FC Platinum is set to be part of the CAF Champions league preliminary round matches set for the 10th of next month.<\/p>\n

SRC has also approved Zimbabwe Cricket to host Thailand and Ireland in women\u2019s One Day Internationals and T20 competitions between September and October.<\/p>\n

The Zimbabwe Rugby Sevens side, the Cheetahs, both men and women, have also been allowed to resume training ahead of World Cup Qualifiers and the Dubai 7s.<\/p>\n

Tennis Zimbabwe will also host China in the Davis Cup competition after the tournament was approved, together with the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Open set for Royal Harare next month.<\/p>\n

The approval of these 13 team assignments is expected to pave way for the resumption of other sporting activities in line with COVID-19 protocols.<\/p>\n

The SRC suspended all sporting activities and events with effect from Saturday the 3rd of July 2021.<\/p>\n

The suspension was at the backdrop of a rise in new coronavirus infections in the country.<\/p>\n
