Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>ZANU PF has scoffed at the Nelson Chamisa-led MDC Alliance for the opposition party\u2019s celebrations following the victory of Zambia\u2019s President-elect Hakainde Hichilema in the elections held on 12 August in the neighbouring country.<\/p>\n

ZANU PF spokesperson Simon Khaya-Moyo said the MDC Alliance\u2019s response to Hichilema\u2019s victory exhibits cardinal political immaturity.<\/p>\n

Khaya-Moyo stated that Zambia and Zimbabwe were sovereign States who needed no external interference when holding their elections. Said Moyo:<\/p>\n

MDC-A\u2019s conduct following recently held national elections in Zambia demonstrates cardinal political immaturity.<\/p>\n

The revolutionary ZANU PF party is fully aware that elections were held by a sister sovereign state of Zambia, that great country.<\/p>\n

No outside political party could have participated, let alone the MDC Alliance.<\/p>\n

\u2026 Zimbabwe held its harmonised elections of 2018 and MDC-A are still licking their wounds of defeat. More is to come in 2023.<\/p>\n

Khaya-Moyo said ZANU PF\u2019s position in relation to the recently held elections in Zambia is fully reflected in the congratulatory message sent by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to Hichilema following his victory.<\/p>\n
