Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Cain Mathema is alive contrary to reports that he has died.<\/p>\n

Social media platforms have since Wednesday been awash with rumours of Mathema\u2019s demise after reports said he had been airlifted to Harare from the COVID-19 treatment facility at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) after his condition deteriorated.<\/p>\n

In an interview with CITE, Director of Communications and Advocacy in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Taungana Ndoro, denied reports that Mathema had died of COVID-19 complications.<\/p>\n

Ndoro said Mathema was as \u201cfit as a fiddle\u201d, though he confirmed that the former Home Affairs Minister \u201chad been not feeling well.\u201d Ndoro added:<\/p>\n

That confirmation as to whether he has COVID-19 can only come from their Doctor as there is the Doctor and Patient Confidentiality to say whether one has COVID-19, Hypertension or AIDS.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday reports claimed Mathema had been airlifted to Harare from Bulawayo on 28 August after his health deteriorated.<\/p>\n
