Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Opposition politician, Linda Masarira, said that Vice President Constantino Chiwenga\u2019s wife Marry deserves the treatment she is getting from her husband.<\/p>\n

Marry has accused Chiwenga of causing her arrest on what she says are trumped-up charges of attempted murder, and also blocked her from accessing their three minor children and cash from a local bank.<\/p>\n

Pictures of Marry in a bad shape went viral on social media last week and some social media users challenged women rights organisations to speak out against her \u201cmistreatment\u201d.<\/p>\n

But commenting on the issue, Masarira, who leads the Labour, Economists and African Democrats (LEAD) party, said:<\/p>\n

My response to all those who are saying I should comment about Mary Chiwenga\u2019s issue. This is my response and my opinion about her case. Mary Chiwenga is not above the law.<\/p>\n

She is not compelled to go to court if she is not feeling well. Her lawyer can advise the courts of her health status and an administrative warrant of arrest is issued until she attends court physically.<\/p>\n

It is unfortunate that she has chosen a political grandstanding route to seek empathy from the court of public opinion.<\/p>\n

In life, there is something called karma. She denied her ex-husband Shingi Kawondera access to his children for more than ten years.<\/p>\n

Squandered Shingi\u2019s savings as she enjoyed the generals\u2019 love. She enjoyed the best of what she called life then. Which women did she stand with?<\/p>\n

As if that was not enough, she forged a marriage certificate, tried to kill the general and has a history of abusing maids.<\/p>\n

What exactly should I be commenting about? The law is stubborn and the only comment I have is let the law take its course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
