Africa-Press<\/a> – Zimbabwe<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>A 60-year-old man has collapsed and died on a Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) bus.<\/p>\n

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n

B-Metro reports that a man who only identified himself as Bothwell and was part of the passengers who witnessed the incident said Adaton Mugwindiri (60) boarded a Zupco bus near Ashy\u2019s shops in Pumula South suburb intending to go to town.<\/p>\n

Along the way, Mugwindiri started complaining of stomach ache and vomited. aid Bothwell:<\/p>\n

He stopped vomiting and collapsed. One of the passengers informed the driver about the incident.<\/p>\n

He stopped the bus and checked him and discovered he had died.<\/p>\n

The Zupco driver drove to a police station and reported the matter.<\/p>\n

Mugwindiri\u2019s body was ferried to a mortuary.<\/p>\n

The late Mugwindiri\u2019s son, Manley Mugwindiri (24), told B-Metro that his father was suffering from heart disease and had been on medication since 2019.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time for a passenger to die on the bus. In January this year, a passenger aboard a Devine Star Logistics bus which was coming from Johannesburg, South Africa, died in Beitbridge.<\/p>\n

The man, who was identified as Shingai Ndlovu, was pronounced dead on arrival at Beitbridge Hospital.<\/p>\n

In December last year, a Zimbabwean woman died at the Beitbridge border post while waiting on a bus after she had reportedly complained about feeling dizzy and of fatigue and asked fellow passengers to pray for her before she died.<\/p>\n

The deaths have always sparked fears among fellow passengers who will be unsure whether the deaths are COVID-19 related or not.<\/p>\n
