Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has forecasted moderate rains across southern Zimbabwe from this Monday up to Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The MSD said although the volume of rain could be low, it could be enough to sustain some crops.<\/p>\n

This comes as farmers across the country who planted their fields last month with the early rains have expressed grave concern over the prolonged dry spell.<\/p>\n

The bulk of crops planted early have begun showing signs of wilting due to persistent high temperatures and no rain.<\/p>\n

MSD agro-meteorologist Benjamin Kwenda on Sunday said apart from this week, some rains were expected from 12 December, with significant falls expected in some places. Said Kwenda:<\/p>\n

We are still on course on the normal to above normal rainfall that was forecasted for October to December.<\/p>\n

At the end of December, we will do an analysis and we will be able to tell whether it will be normal to above normal.<\/p>\n
