Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Warriors team manager Wellington Mpandare says the process to persuade Khama Billiat to bounce back into the national team fold for next month\u2019s AFCON finals is a work in progress.<\/p>\n

Billiat retired from international football last month but there are plans to try and make him change his mind and take part in the continental spectacle in Cameroon.<\/p>\n

Mpandare said the process will commence soon. The former Gunners official told Soccer24:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s work in progress, we will pay him a visit soon.<\/p>\n

Some fans disagree with the \u2018expensive\u2019 idea of ZIFA sending a delegation to South Africa just to have a conversation with the Kaizer Chiefs star, suggesting that it is better to conduct a virtual meeting between the two parties.<\/p>\n

Mpandare said they are still weighing their options. He said:<\/p>\n

Visiting him is one of the many options around and virtual is another available we will make a decision on that. We will take the best option available.<\/p>\n

Zimbabwe is likely t be without a number of key players including England-based trio \u2013 Teandayi Darikwa, Jordan Zemura, Brendan Galloway, and France-based Marshal Munetsi.<\/p>\n

Darikwa pulled out citing personal issues while Munetsi, Zemura, and Galloway are with injured. Zemura who plies his trade for Bournemouth is, however, reportedly recovering well and could be fit for the January tournament.<\/p>\n
