Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Newly appointed Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (ZINARA) board chairperson, George Manyaya said that the department will handle statutory funds with high levels of rectitude and propriety.<\/p>\n

Manyaya was among three ZINARA officials recently appointed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to serve in various capacities for the next three years.<\/p>\n

In his acceptance speech, Manyaya said ZINARA will ensure that funds are disbursed on time to various road authorities. He said:<\/p>\n

\u2026 We must ensure the timeous disbursement of funds to the various road authorities. This role comes with a lot of responsibilities and expectations and when handling statutory funds like the road fund there is a need to manage such with high levels of propriety and probity.<\/p>\n

\u2026 We applaud HE President ED Mnangagwa for spearheading the bold and transformative policies as infrastructural development is a key pillar in the national development strategy and as you have seen that the emergency road rehabilitation programme has taken shape.<\/p>\n

We must ensure the timeous disbursement of funds to the various road authorities.<\/p>\n

Lizwe Bunu was re-appointed for a second term as the deputy chairperson of the ZINARA board while Alderman Naason Mudzara was also reappointed as a board member for ZINARA, both for the next three years with effect from 13 January 2022.<\/p>\n

The appointments were announced by Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission (ZACC) recently named ZINARA among the country\u2019s most corrupt Government entities, the other two being the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and the Vehicle Inspectorate Department (VID).<\/p>\n
