Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Australian-based Zimbabwean musician and record producer Sanii Makhalima is supporting MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa in the 2023 presidential election.<\/p>\n

He told ZimLive.com that corruption has destroyed the country and threatening people for supporting the opposition won\u2019t work anymore. Said Makhalima:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not about politics, it\u2019s love for change and a better Zimbabwe. I\u2019m for change in Zimbabwe and I join those saying \u2018ngaapinde hake mukomana\u2019 (let the young man take over).<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t have to be Chamisa\u2019s supporter to know that corruption is destroying the country and to call for change or a better Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

The days of threatening or condemning people for supporting the opposition are gone.<\/p>\n

In Zimbabwe, artistes avoid publicly criticising the ruling ZANU PF for fear of being victimised.<\/p>\n

Apart from a few musicians such as Thomas Mapfumo, now living in the United States, the majority of artistes choose to \u201csee no evil, hear no, evil speak no evil\u201d as far as politics is concerned.<\/p>\n
