Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC-T has suspended its first vice president Thokozani Khupe with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

In a statement this Thursday, MDC-T Secretary For Information and Publicity Witness Dube said the party is investigating several allegations made against Khupe.<\/p>\n

He however did not specify the allegations. Below is the full statement by Dube:<\/p>\n

The MDC T wishes to advise that First Vice President Dr Thokozani Khupe has been suspended.<\/p>\n

A letter dated 12 January 2022 was personally delivered to Dr Khupe and her legal team.<\/p>\n

The suspension was with immediate effect, pending investigations into the various allegations levelled against her.<\/p>\n

Investigations are being conducted by a team led by the party\u2019s Arbiter General.<\/p>\n

The suspension is in line with the party constitution and is a result of certain issues that arose.<\/p>\n

Once the said issues are investigated and fully resolved, the party will communicate such.<\/p>\n

Khupe had earlier on Thursday announced that she would address a press conference on Friday.<\/p>\n
