Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Harare Metropolitan Province Secretary for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Tafadzwa Muguti\u2019s abrasive approach has reportedly unsettled some of his colleagues in government and the ruling party ZANU PF.<\/p>\n

Last year Muguti was allegedly poisoned after he targeted land barons. Several land dealers have been arrested since Muguti was appointed Harare Provincial Development Coordinator (PDC).<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Muguti announced that Arlington Estates face demolition and that the Government was approaching the courts for a demolition order.<\/p>\n

Muguti\u2019s actions reportedly caused disgruntlement in corridors of power forcing Housing minister Daniel Garwe to intervene in the matter.<\/p>\n

The Zimbabwe Independent<\/b><\/p>\n

reported a ZANU PF source as saying Muguti is failing \u201cto read the politics\u201d as some alleged land barons are senior officials in the ruling party. Said the source:<\/p>\n

Not only do those in power feel under threat from Cyclone Muguti but innocent citizens have also not been spared from his actions.<\/p>\n

He is failing to read the politics because, remember ZANU PF leaders have been implicated in cases of vote-buying in Harare using land, especially in areas like Harare South and Nyatsime areas.<\/p>\n

So, some of those so-called illegal settlers did not just wake up and settle where they are.<\/p>\n

The COVID-19 pandemic has proven to be brutal, but in the eyes of citizens, Muguti has proven to be another pandemic in our midst.<\/p>\n

Recently, Muguti allegedly defied a High Court order which blocked all demolitions against informal traders\u2019 structures in Harare and Chitungwiza.<\/p>\n

He also ordered more than 400 private schools in Harare to comply with the Education Act or face closure.<\/p>\n

In June 2021, Muguti\u2019s attempt to ban non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Harare from operating without being registered by his office failed after the court barred him from interfering with their operations.<\/p>\n
