{"id":56963,"date":"2022-04-05T17:36:50","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T15:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/council-ordered-to-reinstate-chamisas-loyalists"},"modified":"2022-04-05T20:10:04","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T18:10:04","slug":"council-ordered-to-reinstate-chamisas-loyalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/council-ordered-to-reinstate-chamisas-loyalists","title":{"rendered":"Council Ordered To Reinstate Chamisa\u2019s Loyalists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Labour Court has ordered the municipality of Marondera to reinstate seven employees who were dismissed last year after being accused of being Nelson Chamisa\u2019s sympathisers.<\/p>\n<p>The workers approached the courts saying they were illegally dismissed after refusing to pledge allegiance to the Douglas Mwonzora-led MDC T.<\/p>\n<p>According to a judgement issued on March 2, the local government authority has been ordered to reinstate the workers to their positions and pay them their defaulted salaries. Reds the judgment in part:<\/p>\n<p>The claim for unlawful termination of the contracts of employment is upheld. The 1st to the 6th respondent be and is hereby reinstated into their original positions without loss of salary and benefits.<\/p>\n<p>If reinstatement is no longer tenable, the council shall pay the workers\u2019 damages for the premature loss of their jobs.
