{"id":58100,"date":"2022-04-25T17:46:33","date_gmt":"2022-04-25T15:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/seven-men-accused-of-murdering-elvis-nyathi-in-diepsloot-back-in-court"},"modified":"2022-04-25T19:56:05","modified_gmt":"2022-04-25T17:56:05","slug":"seven-men-accused-of-murdering-elvis-nyathi-in-diepsloot-back-in-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/seven-men-accused-of-murdering-elvis-nyathi-in-diepsloot-back-in-court","title":{"rendered":"Seven Men Accused Of Murdering Elvis Nyathi In Diepsloot Back In Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The seven men accused of the murder of Elvis Nyathi, a Zimbabwean national and Diesploot resident on 6 April are expected back in the Randburg Magistrates Court, in Johannesburg, on Monday, 25 April, in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>They face charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, robbery, and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n<p>The accused appeared in court on Friday last week where the matter was postponed to Monday.<\/p>\n<p>They are expected to apply for bail this morning when they return to the dock.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, one of the accused delayed court proceedings as he requested time to get legal representation from legal aid.<\/p>\n<p>The accused\u2019s lawyer told the court that she would be recusing herself, citing a lack of communication with her client.<\/p>\n<p>The late Elvis Nyathi Banajo Mbodazwe was born on 14 February 1979, at Brunapeg Hospital to parents Mfanyana Nyathi and Sipho Ndlovu.<\/p>\n<p>He grew up at Tshatshe, Sewula in Kezi, and did his primary education at Sewula Primary School in Matabeleland South Province.<\/p>\n<p>Nyathi\u2019s family moved to Insuza and in 2006 he left for South Africa, where he was a gardener until his death.<\/p>\n<p>In South Africa, he lived in Diesploot Extension One where he was beaten, stoned and set alight metres from his home.<\/p>\n<p>Nyathi was currently building his own home in Ntabazinduna, Umguza District, Matabeleland North Province.<\/p>\n<p>He leaves behind his wife Nomsa Tshuma and four children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
