{"id":599,"date":"2018-12-30T13:02:47","date_gmt":"2018-12-30T13:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=599"},"modified":"2018-12-30T13:02:47","modified_gmt":"2018-12-30T13:02:47","slug":"zctu-demands-50pc-upward-review-of-salaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/policy\/zctu-demands-50pc-upward-review-of-salaries","title":{"rendered":"ZCTU demands 50pc upward review of salaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has reiterated its earlier demand for a 50 percent upward review of wages and salaries across the board to compensate for the price increases of basic commodities.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>ZCTU secretary-general Japhet Moyo said the union has started a process of consultation with all its structures on the way forward.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>He said so far, the consensus-building up is that workers are prepared for peaceful protests early next year to vent out their frustration.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis action is not for workers only, this is why we are organising the communities because they are also suffering.<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>\u201cWe are also calling on the other likeminded organisations and people to join us.<\/div>\n<div>\u201cThis is a fight by Zimbabweans against suffering.
