Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>CCC member Moreblessing Ali\u2019s alleged killer Pius Mukandi alias Jamba wanted to flee the country after committing the crime.<\/p>\n

This was revealed when Jamba (31) appeared in court on Saturday before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.<\/p>\n

Jamba reportedly fled to his mother\u2019s home area in Hurungwe\u2019s Chidamoyo area after committing the crime.<\/p>\n

He wanted to sell a grinding mill to raise transport money to Zambia or Mozambique.<\/p>\n

He was, however, arrested by the police on Thursday, with the help of the community who became aware of his presence in the area.<\/p>\n

The investigating officer identified in court as A Dimimbo also said Ali was not Jamba\u2019s girlfriend, and that it was the first time for Jamba to see the deceased.<\/p>\n

Ali\u2019s body was discovered on 11 June in a disused well, in the Nyatsime area in Beatrice.<\/p>\n

Police issued a statement saying the murder was not politically motivated as the two were allegedly lovers.<\/p>\n

Jamba was remanded in custody to 1 July and advised to apply for bail at the High Court.<\/p>\n
