Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Villagers and authorities at Majiji Primary School in Bubi, Matabeleland North Province were forced to invite a self-styled prophetess to \u201ccleanse\u201d the school following mysterious occurrences.<\/p>\n

The school was forced to close last month after school children, female teachers and women in nearby villages were tormented by what they suspected to be goblins.<\/p>\n

The prophetess, Sithembiso Moyo, said the \u201cspirit\u201d of a male teacher who died at the school some time ago was responsible for the unnatural occurrences.<\/p>\n

A cleansing ceremony was conducted at the school last Friday, with the affected teachers, parents and villagers from surrounding areas in attendance. Said Moyo:<\/p>\n

There is a spirit of a male teacher who died at the school. The family of the long-deceased teacher failed to perform traditional rituals to cleanse his spirit from the school and his spirit is now troubled.<\/p>\n

It is today that we get rid of it and make sure that the spirit of the late teacher will be exorcised and tamed so that he rests in peace.<\/p>\n

Moyo also claimed that the other problem was caused by a strange goat that has remained roaming at the school, and whose owners are not known.<\/p>\n

School Development chairperson John Sibanda confirmed that a cleansing ceremony was held at the school on Friday. He said:<\/p>\n

She began her cleansing rituals last Friday on a cold rainy day. She gathered the affected teachers and the nearby villagers.<\/p>\n

One teacher testified that she had been seeing a shadowy figure that would \u2018strangle\u2019 her. During the process, she would be powerless to fight back.<\/p>\n

The same strange shadow would sexually abuse her, which is terrifying. We hope that the ceremony yields positive results.<\/p>\n
