Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>An Apostles of Christ church pastor, Afolf Lwazi Moyo (31), on Wednesday appeared before Harare magistrate Noticia Shenje facing two counts of theft of church property worth US$13 000.<\/p>\n

Moyo pleaded guilty to the charges and was remanded in custody to Friday for sentencing.<\/p>\n

Prosecuting, Charlotte Chikore, said that on 11 July 2022, a member of the Apostles of Christ church situated at Gallop Blank building in Harare only identified as Hlongwane locked the church doors and went on an online Zoom meeting.<\/p>\n

Moyo then unlocked the church doors and took electronic gadgets including a television set and laptops. He was captured by CCTV cameras while committing the crime.<\/p>\n

On 16 July 2022 Hlongwane then noticed that 18 laptops were missing from the church and proceeded to file a police report.<\/p>\n

Moyo allegedly stole another television set from a local firm situated in the same building.<\/p>\n

The man of the cloth was arrested on 19 July and he voluntarily led the police to the recovery of some of the stolen gadgets.<\/p>\n
