Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) says it is investigating police officers who allegedly forced an elderly suspected thief to eat raw goat meat.<\/p>\n

The incident allegedly occurred at Guyu Police Station in Matabeleland South Province during interrogation.<\/p>\n

ZRP national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident. He said:<\/p>\n

We are investigating this case and the public should know that this matter will not be swept under the carpet.<\/p>\n

In video footage which has emerged, an elderly man, who identified himself as Rich Malinga, confesses to stealing and skinning a goat, during interrogation by police officers.<\/p>\n

Responding to a female police officer, Malinga said he found many goats in his field and hit one. He said the goat died and he skinned it.<\/p>\n

The police officers then ordered Malinga to eat the raw meat and he complied.<\/p>\n
