Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>CCC leader Nelson Chamisa has scoffed at claims by ZANU PF that he was behind allegations by Australia-based Zimbabwean Susani Mutami who claimed to have been raped as a minor by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.<\/p>\n

Addressing the party\u2019s supporters in Masvingo on Sunday, Chamisa said ZANU PF officials should keep him out of their shenanigans. He said:<\/p>\n

Mvura ikasanaya ndiChamisa, uya musikana weku Australia (Susan Mutami) hameno zvaaitaura achiti ndakanzwai nanhingi, ndikanzwa zvonzi ndiChamisa, ini ndodongorera muchiita zvinhu zvenyu ndaivapo ini? Ndingasaita shohwera?<\/b><\/p>\n

(If it doesn\u2019t rain they blame Chamisa; now this lady in Australia says she was abused by so and so \u2026 and they blame Chamisa).<\/p>\n

Chamisa also responded to criticism over the party\u2019s failure to stage mass protests to push for the release of jailed legislators Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole together with 13 other party activists.<\/p>\n

Sikhala, Sithole and the other activists were arrested in June on allegations of inciting violence and participating in acts of violence in Nyatsime following the murder of Moreblessing Ali. Said Chamisa:<\/p>\n

We are bringing a different type of politics to this country.<\/p>\n

Some people have been saying Chamisa tell people to go into the streets for violence because they listen to you.<\/p>\n

You are the leader, and they will do anything you tell them.<\/p>\n

I said no, God has no confusion, he will be telling me what to do. Please do not force me to do what I have not been told to do yet.<\/p>\n

I will do it when the time is right, I will lead.<\/p>\n

We are not a violent party. Isu tinofamba naJesu; we do not do violent politics.<\/p>\n

We only do peace politics, developmental politics, and transformation politics.<\/p>\n

Sikhala and Sithole together with the other CCC activists have been denied bail by the courts repeatedly.<\/p>\n
