Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe has released a weather report and forecast for the period 30 August \u2013 01 September 2022. Pindula News presents the report and forecast below:<\/p>\n

Cloudy, windy and mild conditions were experienced over parts of Matabeleland South, southern districts of Midlands, Masvingo, and Manicaland provinces. All other areas had clear skies. The high pressure over the southeast coast should maintain a cool and fresh south-easterly airflow across the country.<\/p>\n

Cloudy conditions accompanied by light drizzle to the south of the main watershed are anticipated, whilst to the north; it should be partly cloudy and cool.<\/p>\n

IMPACTS<\/p>\n

\u2022 The decrease of temperatures from warm to cool daytime conditions may affect the health of vulnerable members of society.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Outdoor activities may need to be planned in line with projected light drizzle and rain, as well as the cooling winds.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Winds tend to increase the rate of spread of veldt fires, with some becoming uncontrollable.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The public is encouraged to safeguard against the spreading of wildfires by constructing fireguards that are maintained free from combustible matter and are at least 5(five) meters wide.<\/p>\n

\u2022 All farmers are urged to reduce the amount of grass on their farms and residential properties through hay baling, thatch and broom grass harvesting as a fire prevention measure.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dress appropriately with the projected fall in temperatures.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The current Fire danger rating is significant and small fires have the potential to cause uncontrollable veld fires during this period.<\/p>\n
